Canada. Consumer confidence tumbles in April Print E-mail

Consumer confidence took a dive in April, wiping out the gains made in March, according to the Conference Board of Canada. Nationally, consumer confidence fell 7.8 percentage points to 84.8 in April, according to the report. Consumer confidence levels varied greatly depending on the region. British Columbia -- which played host to the Winter Olympics in February -- slid 28.3 points to 92.8. On the positive side, the index rose 3.9 points to 85.3 in Ontario.
